Crystal failure reason
Most internal ultrasound probe uses a piezoelectric crystal. After
long-term use, it can be causing the crystal of natural aging, and
external force such as the use of non-standard or fall off, touch
hit will make probe crystal damage, after crystal damaged, B
ultrasonic detector detected in the image will appear signal
attenuation, the image has dark, black bars, interference, defects
such as blind area, serious the images will be "blind", which will
cause doctors can not diagnose, affecting the quality of diagnosis.
Solution
This kind of failure is caused by ultrasound probe wafer short
circuit. The short circuit of the chip can be judged by measuring
the power supply voltage of the chip, if a chip or chip set of
power supply voltage is lowerthan others, can judge the chip or
chip set has a short circuit. Replace the corresponding chip or
chip group, makes the probe to restore the previous feature, the
interference disappears.

Probe Troubleshooting Summary
1.Check whether multiple probes are the same phenomenon, sometimes
it is necessary to plug again
2.Lens and crystal failure are sometimes similar, both are
shadowing on the image
3.If there is a single probe problem, replace the socket to have a
check.
4.The high frequency probe (small parts probe) is sensitive. If
only this probe doesn’t work, may be caused by machine failure.
Daily and Long-Term Storage of ultrasound transducer
1. Always store transducers in the transducer holders on the side
of your system or on a securely mounted wall rack when you are not
using them.
2. Ensure the transducer holders are clean before storing
transducers
3. When storing transducers, use the cable-management clips, if
available, to secure the transducer cable
4. Avoid storing transducers in areas of temperature extremes or in
direct sunlight.
5. Store transducers separately from other instruments to avoid
inadvertent transducer damage.
6. Before storing transducers, make sure they are thoroughly dry.
